Pachira is the name of a plant of humid forests, such as the wonderful Tortuguero National Park in the Northern Caribbean of Costa Rica. This aquatic plant grows near rivers, streams, and springs. It is a plant with a fruit similar to a coconut that has very peculiar flowers because they are large, showy, and very colorful with yellow and reddish tones.

More than 27 years ago, when the owners first visited the area and fell in love with its natural wealth, they decided to name the project Pachira Lodge because of the multiple Pachira plants on the property.
